I needed something better to properly layout the venue floor plans when organizing a conference. Something better than canva. Something that would know how many pixels on the map correspond to how many meters IRL, something that automatically counts all the chairs, that tells me where in the budget I am based on what I placed on the map, something that knows how much which vendor has in stock, how large each item is, whether it has fire certification, what colors it comes in, whether it’s heavy or rain proof. Something that lets me communicate my plans easily to the volunteers and on-site staff, based on what they are responsible for. Something that lets me make different plans depending on what phase of the conference we’re in, without having to order the same furniture for each phase-dependent layout.
So, I started building one. It’s SO fun to use! I’ll have to work on it more, but will move it from localhost to here soon-ish.
